Zuhura Yunus Leads Tanzanian Delegation to Visit Permanent Mission in Geneva

The Tanzanian delegation participating in the 356th session of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Governing Body has today visited the Permanent Mission of Tanzania in Geneva. 

Led by Deputy Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister - Labour, Employment and Relations, Zuhura Yunus, the delegation met with officials at the mission.








The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation and discuss key labour and employment issues on the agenda of the ILO session. 

Yunus was accompanied by Judge Yose Mlyambina of the High Court (Labour Division).

The Tanzanian delegation is representing East African countries at the ILO session, focusing on promoting cooperation in labour and employment. Their participation includes delivering statements on key issues, showcasing Tanzania's commitment to international labour standards.

The delegation includes representatives from institutions under the Office of the Prime Minister, such as PSSSF, NSSF, OSHA, WCF, and CMA. Their presence highlights Tanzania's holistic approach to labour and employment issues.

During the visit, the delegation discussed ways to enhance collaboration with the Permanent Mission in Geneva. They also explored opportunities for technical support and capacity building in labour and employment.

Tanzania's participation in the ILO session demonstrates its commitment to promoting decent work and social justice. The country's engagement with the ILO strengthens its labour laws and policies, aligning with international standards.

The ILO session provides a platform for Tanzania to share experiences and learn from other countries. The delegation's engagement with international stakeholders fosters cooperation and knowledge sharing.
