The Mining Commission has called upon all holders and applicants of mineral prospecting and mining licences across the country to verify their licence and application information before June 25, 2026, in a move aimed at strengthening the management and administration of mineral licences nationwide.
According to a public notice issued by the Commission, the verification exercise covers applicants and holders of prospecting licences, primary mining licences, mining licences and special mining licences.
The Commission said the exercise is intended to ensure that all records contained in the mineral licensing database remain accurate, complete and up to date.
Information required for verification includes contact details such as postal addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, and the names and contact details of portal administrators.
Stakeholders will also be required to submit their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), copies of National Identification Authority (NIDA) cards or passports, as well as company documents, including BRELA Search or MEMART documents, particularly in cases where there have been changes in company directorship.
In addition, the Commission noted that a Power of Attorney for the portal administrator is among the key documents required during the verification process.
According to the notice, verification may be conducted electronically through the Online Mining Cadastre Transactional Portal (OMCTP), accessible via the Mining Commission portal, or physically through submission of the required documents at designated offices across the country.
The Commission explained that prospecting licences, mining licences and special mining licences will be handled at the Mining Commission Headquarters in Dodoma, while primary mining licences will be processed through the offices of Resident Mines Officers.
The Mining Commission further warned that failure to comply with the notice within the stipulated timeframe may result in licences being disregarded and removed from the mineral licensing management system.
Speaking through the notice, the Executive Secretary of the Mining Commission, Eng. Ramadhani M. Lwamo, urged stakeholders in the mining sector to fully cooperate with the ongoing exercise, describing it as essential for enhancing efficiency, transparency and the continued growth of the country’s mining industry.
