The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), held a farewell meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Tanzania, Ms. Christine Grau, following the completion of her tour of duty in the country.
During their discussions, Minister Kombo commended Ambassador Grau for her contribution in strengthening relations between Tanzania and the European Union, particularly in areas of development cooperation, trade and investment, the Global Gateway initiative, the private sector, as well as open dialogue between the two sides.
He reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to continue working with the European Union on the basis of mutual respect, transparency and mutual benefit, while wishing Ambassador Grau success in her future assignments.
On her part, Ambassador Grau expressed gratitude to the Government of Tanzania for the cooperation she received during her tenure in the country, and underscored the importance of sustaining strategic cooperation through open dialogue and collaboration in key development sectors between Tanzania and the European Union.
